I’ve become very active lately in commenting on other blogs. As my blogger friend list grows so does the workload. It doesn’t feel like work because I actually enjoy what I do but is time consuming. Keeping track of those blog and forum comments can get confusing when your leaving around a hundred a week.
Last month I posted about BackType.com that helps us keep track of our comments. With the help of comment subscriptions we can see when someone else responds to the posts. Those email notifications can quickly become overwhelming when mixed in other day to day emails. I decided to create a dedicated email to use for comment subscriptions. Then I started using the ‘manage your subscriptions’ option on older notifications so they would go to my new email account.
Within just a few days I realized how much easier things have become. My regular email account isn’t loaded with dozens of comment notifications. Now I simply log-in to my new email and spend a few minutes scanning emails that are generated from my ever increasing blogging addiction ~ I mean activity

As the number of blogs increase it becomes more and more difficult to know what a site’s intent is. Is it just personal opinion, are you running a business, are your posts simply advertisements for product sales or is it a mixture of everything above? None of the answers are wrong, it’s just nice to let your readers know about the things that influence your blogging.
Truthfully, most visitors wont be interested in your disclosure policy but for those that are it’s easy to generate one. I had our disclosure policy up in minutes with the Disclosure Policy Generator by DisclosurePolicy.org. Answer a few questions and you’re just clicks away from a professional Disclosure Policy.

I should re-phrase that, “I Talk Too Much“. Have you ever proof read your blog posts or articles just to find that they are so long you could hardly stay awake? Ok, perhaps I’m not that bad but I do have a tenancy to get very long winded. To the point, at times, when I’m sure most will lose interest before getting the message. That’s the risk we take when we turn a simple blog post into a short story. Everyone is in a hurry and we don’t want our readers to start clicking away due to information overload.
I’m as guilty as this as anyone. In fact, just between you and me, I started writing a post yesterday for the Extreme Ezine and it went so long I decided to break it up into an ecourse. It should be ready by next weekend.
I’m taking my friend Sire’s post Blogging! It’s All About Presentation to heart. Number eight’s ‘Keep It Short‘ is something I’m striving for. I think I did ok with this post. Short and Sweet is my new motto.
