John Chow’s offer of 5000 Entrecard Credits

Filed Under (Good Deals) by User ImageBrian Hawkins (Check me out!) on 09-07-2008

entrecard_offers.jpgThis morning I noticed a link on Entrecard’s ‘Latest buzz‘ section. It had this single line, “John Chow has got a deal for you! 5000 Entrecard Credits in 15 minutes!“. One name that’s always going to draw attention, including mine, is John Chow.

John Chow and Entrecard are working together to offer you 300 credits to 3,000 credits by completing four offers with 1,000 bonus credits for completing all four offers. I’m a huge fan of both John Chow and Entrecard.

Two of the four offers involve completing online surveys and I’ve never been a fan of that whole niche. The biggest offer has nothing to do with online surveys. It’s simply ordering a Google Home Business Kit and paying only for shipping at just $4.95 (It looks like this offer is for US residents only). As of this morning you can buy 1,000 Entrecard Credits for $9.50 USD. on Entrecard’s site. It’s easy math to see that $4.95 is a fantastic deal for $28.50 worth of credits. I’m considering making the purchase myself. Who knows, perhaps Google SEO Supervisor will turn out to be the real prize.

Check out John Chow’s offer here.

BTW: I’d by crazy not to mention that we (Extreme Ezine) are running a contest through July that will be giving out 5,000 Entrecard Credits among other prizes. See the contest here:

  1. You know, I don’t understand the John Chow hype. I have a post coming out soon that will talk about it… anyway, Chow is mainly in things for himself and no one else (not dogging the guy, just that is the truth.. more power to him, I say). So I take just about everything he says with a grain of salt.

Know why he is offering the EC credits? Because he is getting paid WAY, WAY more in return. Each offer you guys take he is making twice that much in return, which is why he will never, ever run out of EC credits. If he gives you 1000 credits for doing a survey, you better believe that he is getting more than the $10 to buy those credits by you doing so.

  2. Hi Gary, I understand completely. It can get a little overwhelming sometimes to keep seeing the same names everywhere. Personally, I’m a big fan of anyone that’s created that kind of success.

I’ve been at this for a long time and have known many marketers with various levels of success. One thing I’ve come to realize is that the super successful never come into their positions by accident. I believe they earned their success. Whether they made it fairly or honestly is another matter.

As far as making a profit giving something of value is basic marketing 101. It’s everywhere we look. Everyone knows why the bank gives us $50 to open a new account but it’s ok. The fifty dollars still spends the same even if someone else gets ahead from it.

Here’s the truth that most of us overlook. None of us, including me, would have much to do with anyone if there wasn’t something in it for us. Those that comment on John Chow’s blog are looking for traffic or to get noticed or just feel good by participating. They’re certainly not doing it to make John feel good or to help his numbers. John gives a nice ebook for subscribing to his list. In return he is building his list. The subscriber gets a nice ebook and hopefully can learn something from the mailings they receive.

I hope this doesn’t sound like a lecture. I’m just thinking as I type. Figuring it out as I go type of thing. I do understand the frustration though. A while back I got so sick of hearing about Mike Filsaime. I spent a lot of time unsubscribing to every single marketer that mentioned his name. I don’t dislike him. In fact, I hold a lot of respect for Mike, I just had all I could take. Twenty +plus emails all with the same offer was getting to be too much.

Well, sorry to run on so long. It’s in my nature. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
